From Kanes owner 2/13/2021:
This is Kane. He is a 5 year old Rottweiler, who was diagnosed with Lymphosarcoma on December 28th, 2020.  I politely told him (my vet) that I did not wish to do chemo and that I’d like to try a more natural approach. He already knew how I felt about steroids, but suggested that since not going the chemo route, that we give him an injection of a steroid and a prescription of prednisone (another steroid).  I was still not happy with having him on prednisone, I started immediately and removed Kane from kibble and I continued to do my own research. I came across a video of KetoPet Sanctuary. I had heard of humans being on a Keto diet and have a sister that is, but never heard of this for DOGS!
By this time, Kane was hungry and thirsty all the time, because of the prednisone. That was it, though! He had no energy and was simply existing! I wasn’t seeing ANY improvements. I wasn’t expecting a miracle, but I was hoping to see some progress. I continued my research and joined Ketogenic Dog Group. THAT was the game changer!!!! I was reading the success stories and felt a spark of HOPE! I needed help quickly! I decided to purchase the 2 meal plan from Mike, and started right away. 
I had taken Kane back in for a recheck and to speak with the vet about weaning Kane off of the prednisone. He gave me the protocol for doing that safely, and agreed that the Keto option was probably best suited. He just didn’t know enough about it.
Here we are on week 2 of this Keto journey and Kane is thriving! He was showing MASSIVE improvements within a couple of days!!! I’ve still got some homework to do, as far as checking his glucose/ketone levels, but I am beyond impressed with the results thus far! He went from “eat…drink water…drink more water…sleep…repeat” to wanting to PLAY! I remember the first time I prepared his meal, I thought “oh my goodness, he’s going to starve”. I was pleasantly surprised at how well he adjusted, and is seemingly fulfilled with his meals!
Mike is AMAZING to work with!!! He is very detailed and always willing to answer your questions! I have told so many people about this process. I can not express the gratitude I have for him! As I stated to a friend, “it’s like someone has studied for the test FOR YOU, given you the answers, and all YOU have to do, is take the test and apply the answers”! There is a LOT of information to go through. Do not feel overwhelmed. It will all start making sense, and the results you see will motivate you to keep going!
We are still early on this journey, but I haven’t felt this much optimism since his diagnosis! I hope his story gives anyone that was in my position the hope and optimism they are so desperately seeking!

My Thoughts: Time and time again, when these dogs are taken off kibble and started on a Raw ketogenic diet, we see these kinds of drastic improvements very quickly. And as it was pointed out, when the first meal was prepared they were shocked at how little food there was to feed, and that is because on a high fat ketogenic diet the meal is MUCH more calorically dense. We are packing in almost double the calories as a standard raw diet. So we can feed LESS food but still be feeding the same amount of calories. Whats disheartening to think, is ALL of the dogs that are out there dealing with cancer but yet mainstream veterinary care refuses to accept that a dog with cancer can thrive on a Raw Ketogenic diet. This is what the animal needs! proper RAW nutrition.
