Nico was originally diagnosed with Osteosarcoma by his vet back in February of 2020 after a pronounced limp developed and was brought in for an exam.

UPDATE FROM NICO’S OWNER- JUNE 2021–
“Hi Mike-
Just an update to let you know that it has been 15 months since Nico was diagnosed with osteosarcoma.  Since that time she stopped limping– about 3 weeks after starting the custom keto diet; she celebrated her 13th and 14th birthdays (or the days we celebrate as her birthday); and she has walked about 1800 miles with me.  She has kept me sane and healthy through this past very strange year.  My 13 year old son helps me make her food and we have all bonded over caring for each other.  I have been very fortunate that she immediately embraced the 2:1 custom raw keto diet that I started her on.  Her original kibble meal must have tasted terrible to her because she was always ready for the raw diet and never once turned up her nose at it or complained.  She has been on the 1:1 custom raw keto diet now for the past 11 months with no complaints.  The bump that was present on her shoulder has completely disappeared and she is fit and healthy.   I am so grateful for the diet, the support and the advice of Mike and of the community of dog owners who have shared information and supportive messages.  Most of all, I am grateful that she has recovered and that I am lucky to have the reasonable hope of a couple more years with this bouncy, sweet, active and loving gal.
