If you are new to raw feeding or perhaps never fed Raw Before, thats fine – we can simplify these Ketogenic without all the “bells and whistles” of the extra organs/offal listed below. But if you are an experienced raw feeder, or even if you’re not and just want the diet to be the best it possibly can, then you will probably opt for the extra “leg work” of including as much of the additional organs listed as possible.

Word of advice, if we’re dealing with a dog with cancer- where time is not on our side- I would advise that you don’t spend an exorbitant amount of time trying to find where you can source items if you don’t already know. Don’t waste too much time if you are not able to efficiently find various items like kidney, spleen, hearts etc. We can always go back to fine tune your dogs diet* to include these extra things later on down the road, it’s more important that we get a dog with cancer started on these Ketogenic diets asap.

Once the diets are formulated with the specified selection of various organs that you choose from the selection below, we can’t simply substitute things * if you come to find out that you thought you could get a specific organ and then you come to find out that you can’t actually get that organ from your supplier then your entire recipe will need to be reformulated and there will be a surcharge for the time involved for the reformulation and new PDF batch reports that will be emailed to you. So please make sure of your selection and/or verify with your supplier/store first and stock up and freeze these items so you always have them on hand.

Some important notes about sourcing these various items :
1. At a bare minimum we must include beef liver in the diet- This is a staple ingredient and most any major grocery store will at least stock beef liver. Albeit, sometimes hidden away in the frozen section of the store so don’t be afraid to ask an employee if you can’t find it at your local store.

2. If you select that you can get beef spleen- PLEASE make sure from your source that you can in fact get this! countless times people think they can get this only to find out their supplier can’t supply it. So only select spleen if you are 100% sure

3. Most major grocery stores will not carry any ground beef fattier than 80/20 (20% fat) BUT if you have a local Aldi store nearby*- they typically will carry ground beef as fatty as 73/27. For high fat Keto meals, the fattiest ground beef is preferred for 2:1 keto ratio meals. That being said, 80/20 will work fine as well, but if you have the option to source fattier beef please specify. The more fat the beef supplies, the less ADDITIONAL fat we will need to add to the diet to achieve our desired target ketogenic ratio.
If you work with a local butcher, they can typically grind you whatever fat percentage you specify.
*google aldi store locator if you are unsure if your area has one

4. REMEMBER! We cannot use any sort of premade store-bought Raw mixture of dog food that already contains various organs or bone mixed in. These Ketogenic diets require exacting amounts of each and every food item we choose to include in your dog’s diet.

5. If you need a source to find some of these items, check and see if wild fork foods delivers in your area! this is a human grade meat delivery service (with store locations as well) they typically have beef heart, liver, kidney, chicken hearts etc. along with ground beefs and many other items! they also have fattier 73/27 ground beefs that work well for the high fat 2:1 keto diets. I’ve been using them for years in the Chicagoland area to source most all of the meats I use in my dogs’ daily diets- local delivers are only $5 and sent out via independent drivers’- kind of like door-dash. Check their website for availability in your state. link here

SPECIAL NOTICE! Once we decide together on the foods we are going to use in your dog’s diet plan, going back and changing/adding food items AFTER your dog’s diet plan is complete and you have received a PDF copy will then require reformulation of your dog’s entire diet plan, new PDF recipe reports will be created and will be emailed to you. Therefore, a small nominal fee of $35 will be required to go back and reformulate your dog’s diet with the ingredient changes necessary.
These fees will be waived in cases where within the 14 days of receiving the diet plans, if your dog doesn’t like something like the Coconut oil, or cloves, or spinach, a food item that does not require EXTENSIVE reformulation of the diet plan, all of this takes a lot of time to calculate together. Instances where you want to swap out a fat percentage of meat after you’ve already received the PDF files for the recipe will require this fee to reformulate the plan. So please make sure to fill out the choices below accurately and that you know these items are what you want to use.
Thank you for understanding.

*NOTE ABOUT FAT CONTENT OF GROUND BEEF:

Pros of a fattier content ground beef is that we then will need to add less additional fats to achieve our high fat ketogenic ratios, and sometimes dogs can start getting fussy about this additional fat , I’d say this really only happens in about maybe less than 10% of the clients I’ve worked with.
So if the option is readily available to use a fattier content ground beef, then yes by all means that is our safest bet. But I always tell people not to spend too much time trying to find this sometimes elusive beef in their area, don’t waste several days hunting I guess is my point. It’s most important we get the dogs started ASAP on these diets

Reformulating fees will be waived within the first 14 days of sending the diet plans only in cases that do NOT require extensive reformulation. Such as cases where a dog won’t eat the meal because it doesn’t like the fat we decided to use, or it won’t eat the meal with choices in it. But any major reformulations will incur a fee
