One of the BIGGEST perpetuated myths out there is that you CAN’T feed Raw to a dog who 1. Has cancer 2. Is undergoing chemotherapy, or 3. Is undergoing Radiation therapy. And that if you dare try to feed them raw under these conditions that you will cause grave danger to your beloved pet.

Well, I’m here to put this Myth to rest because it is absolutely rubbish.

With 7,000 members in the Ketogenic Dog Group, over 6 years, not one single reported case of a complication from a dog with cancer eating RAW and this includes while they were on chemotherapy. I personally have documented over 400 dogs I’ve worked with closely 1 on 1 with their owners, many of which were on chemo, and we fed Raw home prepared balanced ketogenic diets and we never once had a pet owner report any issues of complications from raw and chemo.

Time and time again, pet owners are advised by their vets, oncologists or other Facebook groups that you can’t feed Raw while on Chemo. This information is not suggesting going against any professional advice your vet has given you, but you also should research and inform yourself of other options and make your own decision on what and how you feed your dog because blanket statements that a dog with cancer “can’t eat raw, or “shouldn’t” eat raw” are absolutely false in totally inaccurate to say. If there’s ever a time that a dog needs the absolute BEST nutrition they can get, it’s going to be when they are sick and battling cancer, so to scare monger these pet parents into thinking they’re doing something that is going to harm or hurt their dog by feeding raw is just very unfortunate because we know this isn’t true. The video below is just a quick snippet I threw together of countless dogs with cancer, fed RAW Keto, and a lot of these dogs were on chemo.

” My veterinarian said I don’t know what you are doing but keep doing it! “

These are the kind of statement’s we’re used to hearing from veterinarians! Countless times we see dogs who are dealing with Cancer bounce back so well when started on a properly formulated RAW ketogenic diet. and the vets are miffed at how these dogs are doing so well.

Please reach out to other pet owners in The Ketogenic Dog Group who continued to feed raw on chemo. THERE IS NO REASON YOU CAN’T CONTINUE TO FEED RAW TO A DOG WITH CANCER AND WHILE ON CHEMO. Our group has NEVER had a reported adverse situation when a dog on chemo continues to eat Raw Ketogenic Meals. Multiple clients I have worked with over the years have had their own oncologists endorse raw feeding on chemo. So don’t believe the blanket statements that a dog on chemo can’t eat raw. because that is simply not true in the least bit.

And educating others is what it’s all about. And here’s a perfect example, a new member of the ketogenic dog group was misinformed by their vet that they couldn’t feed raw while their dog was on chemo, I presented all of the countless examples our group has seen over the years and advised this person that the advice they had been given was absolutely false. And this fortunately led them to reconsider and even after some further investigative leg work, their own oncologist confirmed that they don’t see an issue with feeding raw while undergoing chemo! I gave up documenting these cases because there’s simply no point, we know it isn’t true that these dogs can’t eat raw during these circumstances.
