Tucker’s 1 year recap on Keto to manage his Epilepsy

I just want to give a shout out of thanks to Mike (at KetoPoweredK9) for all the help he has provided me, along with the members of this group. Tucker (7 years old) was one day shy of going seizure free for an entire year (no medications) with this diet. He did have a seizure on day 365 but for the fact that his history for the past three years was 7-8, then 6, then 3, this is indeed a great success! Again, this is with diet only – he has never been on medications. He went from a 2:1 protocol to the more successful 3:1 which has made a big difference. Admittedly, it is work to do all the prep – the meals and supplements but so worth it. My family started out skeptical that I was doing this, but none of them can deny the difference it has made.

My thoughts:
Gayle and I started working together back in to implement a raw Ketogenic diet to help manage Tuckers Epilepsy back in 2021, as with many dogs Tucker required various modifications to the diet until we reached what has ultimately wound up offering him the best results as Gayle has mentioned above, in 2024 Tucker made it 364 days seizure free falling just 1 day short of that magical 1 year mark. Gayle has stuck with the diet plan for Tucker and her efforts have shown indeed. Over the years we have seen so many dogs suffering from seizures benefit from the Ketogenic diet, which has been implemented in human epilepsy for well over 100 years dating back to the 1920’s when it first started being implemented. today it is still used in humans to manage epilepsy and until most recently over this last decade it has been proving itself just as beneficial for our dogs as countless cases are compiled through KetoPoweredK9 which can be seen here as well as here
